Amazon.com Product Description
The only professional home fitness system that features breakthrough Total Nitrocell Technology (TNT), the Bio Force 1.7 home gym includes everything you need to build muscle, gain strength, and lose weight. The TNT system relies on two nitrogen-charged cylinders to create resistance rather than funky weight plates. These cylinders provide the machine with remarkably fluid resistance all the way through each exercise, helping you work your muscles through the entire range of motion. Whether you want to build big, ripped muscles or long, lean, sexy muscles, the TNT weight resistance system is the way to go. The Bio Force 1.7 also makes it easy to switch resistance levels, with an advanced slide-n-lock mechanism that adjusts from 10 pounds to 170 pounds in seconds. And changeovers from one exercise to another are lightning quick, with no dangerous weight plates to move or awkward bows to adjust. Instead, Bio Force changeovers are designed to maximize workout efficiency, so your exercise routines become simpler, faster, and more effective.

The Bio Force 1.7 works every muscle group in your body, with multiple arm articulations for your chest, shoulders, and arms, a lat developer for your back, a leg developer for your quads, hamstrings, calves, and a two-position seat. And to help you get fit the right way, the machine comes with a comprehensive guide demonstrating more than 100 body-shaping exercises for men and women, a healthy eating plan, and an aerobic guide. Surprisingly compact, the Bio Force 1.7 takes up less space than a treadmill. The Bio Force 1.7 measures 65 by 82 by 52.75 inches (W x H x D), weighs 174 pounds, and carries a 12-month warranty on the frame and parts.

5 out of 5 stars Nice Equipment   March 7, 2009

This is nicely designed piece of equipment. It's durable (heavy gauge steel, stainless hardware), operates smoothly, is quiet, versatile (over 100 exercises possible), and easy to operate.

It comes with outstanding assembly instructions, plastic-coated quick-glance exercise sheets, a how-to setup individual exercises video, nutrition info, and a zippered 3-ring binder of workout pics. This is not random junk thrown into a bag. This is professional quality info made to last.

The best part of this weightless home gym is the constant force resistance it provides. Unlike the Bowflex gym, the Bio-Force provides constant force throughout its range of motion -- it's almost like using free-weights! The Bowflex force varies much like a spring -- the farther you stretch it, the more force it takes. This does not result in a good workout.

It'll take you a good 2 hours to assemble the Bio-Force. But I guarantee you will not be disappointed in it's quality or performance!

5 out of 5 stars The Real Deal   January 1, 2010

I've had my Bioforce 1.7 for 4 weeks now and absolutely love it. Here's my story.
Having tried to get started in gyms (paid and free at work) I have never kept up the motivation enough to see any results. For that reason I have never been a muscular guy - something I wanted to address this coming year. I decided that only a home gym would fit my needs. Having two young children I didn't want to spend time at a gym and by having at home I have the flexibility to work out when I get time. I typically do so first thing in the am.

I did lots of reaserch online and decided that based on my needs, reviews and value the Bioforce was for me.
The gym arrived quickly by freight shipment and came in two large boxes. The parts were very well organized and neatly packed so not to get damaged. The gym came with a DVD and >100 exercise types to try. It took me about 2 hours to assemble and was easy to do - no tools needed.

I decided to spend a the time to know the form of the exercises so popped the DVD in. The trainer is a little cheesy at first but I actually found the content very useful. The two (male & female) people demonstrating were not brilliant so it was nice to see what they did wrong to make sure I did not do the same things. Some of the exercise on the bioforce take a bit of getting used to so getting the form right is crucial - for that reason I recommened watching the DVD. The trainer obviously knows his stuff.

The bioforce is well constructed and mine is silver and not white like the pic on amazon. It is very nice on the eye and does not take up much space even in my small basement. Watch out for height though...at 83 inches my ceiling was barely high enough. The movement of the 'weight' is smooth and retains throughout the motion. Changing weight is so easy a caveman could do it! At first I was put off by the pully changes as it seemed like a hassle. In reality it is quicker then change overs in the gym and gives you a pause in between exercises. The pully changes themselves are easy to do and are really clever in the way they are designed. The seat and leg extension comes off easily when not in use.

I have used the gym over 10 times now while my wife has also got into it. I could not be happier with my purchase. The amount of 'weight' is more then anough for me given that I have maxed out at 60 pounds to date. I dont see me needing any more than 170 pounds. While I am not bulging with muscle yet I can see that with regular use I will definitely reach my goals. I decided to use the 8 week program in the book so to keep on a schedule and follow exercises that target muscles other then the obvious biceps and abs.

If I were to be very picky I would say that some of the welds are not great, the leg extension feels cheap and some exercises are a little awkward to get good form on - the Bioforce does a great job but its not perfect for every motion.

If you are looking for a home gym I would highly recommend the bioforce - the hype might be cheesey but this is actually the real deal.

5 out of 5 stars Bio Force is amazing   February 16, 2010

The Bio Force home gym is amazing. I have always wanted a home gym and I spent a month researching all of the different kinds. Ive had mine for a couple weeks now and I couldnt be any happier with my purchase of the Bio Force. The resistance is smooth through the entire range of motion. It is easy to change exercises and pounds of resistance. It is not too big. It is very sturdy, well packaged, and easy to put together. The assembly instructions were very good in explaining what to do and the pictures were very good as well. It took me about 2 hours to put it together, but I was able to do completely by myself. Ive made many online purchases , but this is the first review I have ever left - I like it that much. Some people might think that 170 pounds of resistance is too little, but it is definetely more than enough. They say there is over 100 exercises, but that is because they count the same excersise twice (example - bench press is one excercise and one arm bench press counts as one too... pretty much every excerise is counted as two because they count one hand or one leg as a seperate exercise than two hands or legs). That doesnt matter to me though because there is still a lot of exercises you can do and some more that arent even on their list. If you want a home gym, this is the gym for you... They sale them at sports authority if you want to try it out, but they cost more than they do on Amazon. I would say to go test it at sports authority and then buy it here with free shipping.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Machine   January 4, 2010

I took a trip to Sports Authority last year to purchase a bowflex. While at the store on of the employee's notices I am looking the bowflex and talks me into trying the Bio Force at the store. As soon as I tried it I noticed the smooth flow of each exercise. It felt very natural through out the entire range of motion. Having worked with weights for years I wanted something to keep toned and this machine felt like it could work. I went home did some research and found an almost new unit on Craigslist. Bought it the next day and have been using it for over a year. I have to tell you this machine is quality and will give you a great work out. Fits nicely in the basement and looks good. If you are on the fence visit a sporting goods store and try this machine. I think you will surprised. I was. 5 stars all the way!!

5 out of 5 stars High Quality Product works Great   January 6, 2010

This is a very high quality product. I have owned several home gyms over the years and the Bio Force is the best in its class. Very versatile and well built. The ease of changing the setup to do your workout takes the work out of your workouts and shortens the time of your workouts. The packaging, manuals, and assembly are a snap. I have owned the Bow Flex and the Bio Force is better in every way. Also, I had a noise in one cylinder called manufacture and had a new cylinder in one week, no problem. The quality of the materials and build of the unit are excellent.
